Habemus Papam!! God bless Pope Leo XIV. Our bulletin went out last week before he was elected. What a historical moment. Keep in mind the 267th successor to St. Peter as he begins his global ministry as universal shepherd.

Thank you to the Knights of Columbus in their efforts through the “Tootsie Roll Drive” to assist those with intellectual disabilities. All of our brothers and sisters in Christ have God given dignity and a call to respond to the Lord’s grace in every way they can. Please be generous in your support. Gentlemen consider being a part of the Knights and all the good they do.

Some dates and events to keep in mind as we head into the second half of the busy month of May. May 21st is the Baccalaureate Mass for Pacelli High School 6:30 pm. St. Peter parish is hosting it this year. Pray for our graduates and the future the Lord is calling them to.  May 22nd at 6 pm is the 8th grade Mass/Rite of Passage. Pray for our 8th graders as they look forward to their new educational adventure at the High School.

May 26th is Memorial Day. This year St. Peter is hosting that Mass at the altar in the Guardian Angel cemetery. So the last Monday Mass will actually be at the cemetery at 9 am.  (Should there be inclement weather the Mass will be at St. Peter church.) You are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

May is a month for Mary. Please note the statue of Mary up front that has been crowned by our 2nd graders as they received their First Communion. Take some time this month to honor her. There are so many devotions to choose from. Perhaps this year you can learn more about a devotion you have not heard of before and incorporate it into your daily prayers for the month of May.
