Happy Father’s Day. Dad’s can be hard to shop for, but usually the best gift is being there. Giving your time can not be brought or gift wrapped. Of course praying for Dad is also a good idea anytime of the year.
This weekend is also our picnic. Make some time to be a part of it. So many wonderful opportunities to be together as a parish. Thank you to so many who are giving of their time and effort to make it a great time. It is a great way to build that sense of community and chance to invite the neighborhood to experience St. Peter and welcome them like family. Pray for good weather and God’s blessings on our picnic.
The two day retreat for the Institute of St. Joseph was a great source of grace. It is an opportunity for me to see people at least once a year and renew those friendships with and for them. It fit also with one of the talks focusing on St. Joseph and fatherhood. It’s a reminder that we can always learn to care for others even when it’s difficult and we are not sure what to do, as St. Joseph did. Let’s ask St. Joseph for his prayers on our behalf and for our own fathers that they know God’s blessings in their lives.
