I was born in a village with 150 Catholic families next to the city of Madurai, in the State of Tamilnadu, India. I had my High School education in Madurai. There is a historic Hindu temple and on account this, it is called a Temple city. The Temple forms the heart and lifeline of the 2500 year old city. The Temple was built in the 16th century by a king, whose palace remains still.
I was ordained a priest on April 16, 1978. From 1986 -1990 I was studying and working towards achieving my doctorate in Canon Law while in Rome. During my summers, I took up the work to serve as a substitute for two pastors in the Archdiocese of Chicago. My serving in this capacity allowed them to take a vacation during the warmer months.
After working for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India for 8 years, I came, once again, to the United States for a sabbatical in 2006. During this time, I took some refreshment courses with the intention of returning to India upon their completion. But, providentially, the Lord had different plans for me to work here, in the Diocese of La Crosse.
Since June of 2011, I have been eagerly serving as Pastor of St. Peter’s Parish. Praise God, I am happy to fulfill all of the spiritual ministries in this parish, as the people have accepted me well. I am honored to be a part of your faith journey with you.
