Today we celebrate the Palm Sunday. The week between Palm Sunday and Easter is observed as the time of special devotion to the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Hence it is known as The Holy Week.

Within the Holy Week, the celebrations on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, known as Holy Triduum, recall the depth of love with which Jesus sacrificed himself for our salvation. During these three days, we are invited to experience what it cost for the Son of God, to save us from the peril of sin and death.

Holy Week is the time for us to wake up from a yearlong bout of spiritual procrastination. Regardless of how unfaithful disciples, we might have been year-long, the celebrations during these three days should lead us to renew our faith in the eternal life, assured by the Risen Lord. Hence, as true followers and disciples of Jesus, let us celebrate the gift of Jesus in the Eucharist on Holy Thursday, the pain and death on Good Friday, the doubtful silence on Holy Saturday and the Glorious Resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Unfortunately, we seem to be picky about choosing any one of the days to come and participate in the celebration. Let us be inspired to set apart the time these days to come and participate in the celebrations of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

May our faith be renewed and our love for God be deepened by celebrating the Paschal Mystery of Christ Jesus.
