Dear Parishioners,

This post is to inform and update you on some of the changes which are now being implemented at St. Peter Parish due to the Coronavirus.

Mass Schedule thru May 1, 2020

As of March 16th, all parishes in the Diocese of La Crosse, were notified that ALL Masses were to be canceled as of March 20th until May 1st or further notice.

This also includes Holy Week and Easter; however, blessed palms will be available for pick up in the Faustina Room any time after 9 am on Palm Sunday, April 5th.

Church Entrance Guidelines and Hours

Parishioners still have the option and opportunity to pray privately in the church however there can be no more than nine (9) people gathered at one time in church with a recommended six (6) feet distance between each individual.  This is a state of Wisconsin mandate and is for the safety and protection of all.  Those who violate this mandate are subject to fines and/or imprisonment by the State of Wisconsin.

New Church Hours:

Monday thru Friday   7 am – 3 pm

Saturday:  7 am – 4:30 pm

Sunday: 7 am-Noon

When entering the church, please use the Faustina Room door located on Fourth Avenue.  This is the only door that will be open for access.  When leaving the church, please use this same door.

Parish Contributions

How do I turn in my parish contribution envelope when there is no Mass?

While many individuals and families will experience financial hardship during this difficult time period, please know that your Pastor is very sympathetic to your situation and understands if you are unable to make your regular weekly contribution at this point in time.

For those who are in a position to help the parish meet the normal weekly financial

obligations, I very much thank you for whatever contribution you can make.  As you know, the parish still is obligated to meet payroll, taxes, our monthly school subsidy payment, insurance, utility, and other operational expenses.

Contribution envelopes or any contributions should be mailed to the parish office at:

800 Fourth Avenue, Stevens Point, WI  54481

For your general information, it is not necessary to return every weekly contribution envelope. For your convenience (and to save mailing costs), please feel free to return one monthly check instead of separate weekly mailings.  The choice, of course, is yours.

You also have the option of placing your envelope (or envelopes) in the locked boxes found inside the church near the entryways.

Parish Office to be Temporarily Closed for Walk-In Traffic Thru April.

As of Monday, March 30th, the rectory office will be closed to walk-in traffic thru April.

If you have any questions, concerns or business matters, please feel free to contact the office

between the hours of 8:30 am and 2 pm, Monday thru Thursday at 715-344-6115.

Confessions

All confessions have been canceled at this time; however, if it is necessary that you receive the sacrament of confession, you may make arrangements for a private confession by calling the office between the hours of 8:30 am – 2 pm, Monday thru Thursday at 715-344-6115.

Mass Intentions

All intentions which have been previously scheduled will be celebrated with a private Mass said by the Pastor on the day that the intention was scheduled.

Upcoming Funerals

Please be made aware of the fact that for any upcoming funerals (until further notice), the following guidelines must be followed:  There will be no visitations permitted.  Funeral luncheons may not be scheduled at Kolbe Hall and no more than 10 individuals may attend a funeral at one time.

In closing, I believe that this information will help clarify some of the questions and/or concerns that you might have.

Please continue to pray, say the Rosary and watch Mass on TV whenever you can.  Please refer to the bulletin and our parish website (stpeter.us) for current Mass information.

We are in very disturbing and troublesome times.  We cannot pray enough.  Never has our country needed more prayers for so many especially our caregivers and those working in the field of medicine.

I thank you for your continued prayers, faith and hope.

Keeping you all in my prayers,

Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam

Pastor, St. Peter Parish
